I am taking a couple of online courses and I was wanting some tips on study habits. My study habits where terrible in high school. Basically, I wouldn’t study until that morning of the test on the bus. And it’s really hard to drop those habits. But I recently took my first test, and made an 84. Not bad, but I think I could have done better. I’m already getting stressed about it and how to study. Any tips would be appreciated.
I started on the 16th of March so it’s not like I’ve been in school since September.

Take some time a week to set aside for studying. Compare it to setting aside time that you would take to actually go to class, but instead it’s at your computer, reading books, taking notes, or studying. For example, if the class is offered in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays, set aside time on those days to go to the library with your books and computer and do your work. Then, add on normal studying time that you would add for an in-person class.
My personal advice is that you will never FIND time for studying, but you must MAKE time to study. If you are having trouble with that, take a timer and set it for how long you would like to study (such as 2 hours). It’ll help because it sets an amount of time to do the studying. A change in environment will help – leave your dorm/apartment/house and go to the library, the study lounge, the union (if applicable), etc.
Happy studying!
