I’m double majoring in political science and English and am in dire need of help! I study by highlighting, re-reading, and using flash cards, yet somehow when I’m taking a test my mind goes blank. I just can’t for the life of me remember a single thing. While taking notes in class, I constantly forget what I’m writing mid-sentence and have to ask a classmate. I have to write down everything because I know I’ll forget it in less than 5 minutes.

I’m an excellent writer, and breeze through essay and short answer exams, but identification, matching, quotes, and fill-in-the-black tests are KILLING me. I’m scared my writing skills won’t be enough to do well in law school, or worse, during the rest of my undergrad education.

I assure you, it isn’t nerves keeping me from remembering things. It’s definitely something cognitive and I need help getting to the bottom of it.

HELP!
