What great advice. Coaches are awesome.
At least i know what i am saying,
unlike some people here…
you have an amazing grasp of the obvious
Oooh you are insulting me?
How nice.
Well here is what you wrote:
“Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish, and he would still prefer that you gave him a fish.
-Unknown (to me) ”
That is your comment so why are you denying it?
Well if you are talking about yourself probably its true, but other people like it more when they do something by their own hand.
Like I said, you didn’t read my quote completely – your brain is apparently defaulting to memory!
Please read it again, a play on Lao Tzu:
Teach a man to fish, and he would still prefer that you gave him a fish!
That is: Funny (and True).
You said its unknown to you
I am saying its a chinese quote
to be more precise its from Lao Tzu.
The correct quote is: “Give a Man a Fish, Feed Him For a Day. Teach a Man to Fish, Feed Him For a Lifetime” .
I don’t think you read my quote completely…I think it is a play on the wise Chinese proverb of which you prefer….
Its Chinese.
Establish goals, make a checklist of your expectations (real worthy ones) and evaluate yourself on how are you doing.
Don’t read just for the sake of reading, read actively; asking questions that you will take to your teacher or discuss with other students.
he is so right!
THANK you for emphasizing this quote!
However, this warning needs to be applied with a TRILLION times the force a TRILLION times over to capitalist societies that pay people to do completely USELESS activities – whether digging South African diamonds or working for the National Security Agency – instead of activities that help animals and people. Unnecessary services and material goods MUST be BANNED!
Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day.
Feed fish the man, and he’ll be full for the rest of his life.
Light a fire for a man, he’ll be warm for a day.
Light the man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.
Very true. I suspect we are all a little guilty of this at times. No matter the experience level.
Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish, and he would still prefer that you gave him a fish.
-Unknown (to me)
This is a good advice. As a math tutor I never try to solve a problem for my students either. I may give them hints or ask them what the solution should be and why. I find that this is a good way to make the student think.
By being able to do the problems on your own without any assitance.
great quote but HOW exactly do you do achievement not activity?
Thank you !
Thanks
Great quote that could be used in every situation.
I myself AM a tutor. I’ll be sure to keep this in mind, to encourage my student to work through the problem himself.
Hey, Thanks a lot
Truth.
Thank you
thanks
