anything with omega 3 fatty acids. Fish is known as a “brain food” for a reason. Also, anything high in vitamins/minerals. Really basic things….anything healthy for your BODY will be healthy for your brain. There is no magic food to make “brain absorption” more effective.

Record the lectures, then rewrite your notes in a different way, soon after. See study, exam tips, and memory improvement in sections 13, & 41, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and find your learning style, and adapt. Join, or start study groups. Having a good, or at least, a well ordered memory makes study much easier, and less frustrating, so check out the memory improvement section in some detail. Playing certain games, regularly, can improve memory. PUZZLES, ETC. http://www.brainbashers.com/index.php & http://www.everydayhealth.com/longevity/mental-fitness/brain-exercises-for-memory.aspx?xid=nl_EverydayHealthEmotionalHealth_20081222 Many more free games are shown in sections 0, & 16, at ezy build. I am informed that the recent Nintendo games console has some for improving memory, so you may wish to ask your retailer. Ensure adequate sleep, and exercise moderately, daily.

Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements*, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or its FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it. Alternatively, you could go to the searchbar at http://www.mercola.com and enter: “krill oil”. While you are there, enter “nutritional type”, and eat more in accordance with yours; http://www.naturalhealthcoach.com/tools/ has a 20 question quiz, for those who don’t want the Mercola book. Google: “nootropics”. Females may do better on a 50/50 mix of flaxseed oil, (or 2 tablespoonsful of ground flaxseeds, daily) and fish oil. Alternatively, (not preferred; too many heavy metals, like methyl mercury!!!) eat cold water, oily fish, like mackeral, salmon, cod, & tuna 3 times weekly, alternating regularly. Google: “nootropics”.

The supplements, DHEA & Phosphatidyl Serine are some that I have been informed are worth trying. Ginkgo biloba is often recommended, but has mixed reviews, so check the comparative strength, and buy from a health food, or vitamin store; ask what feedback they have been getting, and what else they suggest (write down, and check them out, later, through Google, WebFerret, or your search engine, before buying).

Most people are suggestible, to some degree, so you could either seek professional hypnotherapy, or, quicker, cheaper, and more conveniently: http://www.asktheinternettherapist.com/ -Improving Study Skills & Concentration, Focus & Increasing Memory, Handling Pressure, all CD – MP3, and/or at: http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com Brain Power, & Academic Performance, Speed Reading, Learn Fast, Organize Your Thinking, Attention In Class, Express Your Opinion, & enter “studying”, & “memory improvement” in the searchbar (bulk discounts).

Some free ones on memory are at: http://www.freehypnosistreatment.com/hypnosistreatment.html * Note: Dr. Mercola at http://www.mercola.com asserts that krill oil is superior to standard Omega 3 fish oil, or that, at least the brands he recommends are, and I am persuaded that he is probably correct. See: FISH OR KRILL OIL? IS KRILL OIL 48x BETTER THAN FISH OIL? in section 81, at ezy build, or, preferably via the Mercola.com searchbar.

GO, GROW, and GLOW foods.

a.It is a group of food that provides energy.
b.Any food that gives carbohydrates (rice, bread, etc.).

Why are carbohydrates good for our brain? Because carbohydrates contain glucose. Glucose is known as the fuel of our brain to give off energy for us to concentrate, remember, learn, and other activities that requires good mental health.

a.A food group that enhances our growth.
b.Dairy products, Meat products.

Some people only knows that the GROW food group is meant for growth. But what they didn’t know is that it contains protein. While it does help kids with their growth, it also helps our brain to function better. In short, our brain needs protein.

a.It is basically for our skin. Foods in this group have high vitamins and minerals.
b.All vegetables and fruits.

When I was a kid, our teacher says that GLOW foods can help our skin because of the different vitamins and minerals it contained. Actually it’s true. One thing they forgotten to tell me is that it can help our brain too.

To name the vitamins are Vit D, Vit C, Vit B, and Vit E.

Also, caffeine can help you concentrate. And, if you can get a real cacao beans (an 80% cacao chocolote or dark chocolate will do), they’re actually a brain food. Search more about it.

It’s good to hear you’re being proactive about your ability to concentrate and focus …

Below are a list of some of the more popular memory / focus / concentration / attention improving products. You can find them in local health food stores and the internet.

1. http://focusfast.com/
2. http://www.vivimind.com/

Focus Fast is stimulant free and contains the most ingredients.
Vivimind is the newest product on the market

There are also a few others that are pretty good that you can find in the ‘Wellness and Health’ sections of the above mentioned stores, or even through google. It’s a big market right now. The downside to that is … there are a lot of crappy or ‘cheap’ products … usually single ingredient ‘wonder pills’ or just a re-branded multi-vitamin. It’s kind of easy to spot them because they just *look* cheap.

As for food help … Fish Oils and anything high in Omega 3s are considered ‘brain food’. Also, small amounts of caffeine can help with CNS stimulation for short periods of time – just be sure to take it black! Putting anything inside it negates the affects.

Good luck with your studies
