What is the difference between awareness and concentration?

I would say concentration is choosing to watch something whereas awareness is choicelessly watching something.

Concentration is focused awareness; concentration is a single point of focus and awareness is simply being conscious of something or someone. You can not concentrate without awareness but you can be aware without concentrating.
