By this question, I mean does it show up on your diploma in some way? Do you just tell potential employers about your concentration to indicate a more specific area of where your skills may lie? And, as a general rule, do universities allow more than one concentration?

Your major does show up on your diploma. As far as a potential employer, they may ask for transcripts or a copy of your diploma for proof of graduation/or how well you would do on the job based on your GPA. They may ask about major, but will ask about what you are good at. Universities do allow more than one concentration, many have two.
